Event Details
To build on past community-building efforts in Pflugerville and fill in the gaps, a series of community work group meetings on "Civic Action Building Blocks (CABB)" will be held on May 13th, 20th, 27th, and June 3rd from 6:00pm to 9:00pm (arrive by 5:45pm) at the Parks and Recreation Center Meeting Room at 400 Immanuel Road in Pflugerville.

Rod Reyna, Harwood Institute for Public Innovation, Coach in Training, will introduce participants to basic building blocks of public problem solving and how the community's aspirations, rhythms, and public knowledge/capital, for example, frame how public challenges are faced. The goal is to strengthen residents' and groups' capacity and skills for mobilizing and creating the conditions for pockets of change in the community, including take effective civic action. Pflugerville's first CABB series is based on Harwood principles, tools/frameworks, and resources (www.harwoodonline.org) developed over the past 20 years and being applied across the country.

Sign-up for one of 20 work group spots. Let others know they can go to http://cabb.eventsbot.com to RSVP for the four free work group sessions. A waiting list for this and/or future CABB series or stand-alone work sessions in central Texas area for communities, neighborhoods, or organizations will be kept.
